Nathaniel Frost

A brief history.

As a child Nathaniel grew on the frozen wastes called the streets of Ishgard. Freezing days, brutally frozen nights. Spending time with his few friends that hadn’t died due to a guards beating or the deep freeze that constantly plagued the oh so Holy City.

One particularly bad day, during a dragon attack upon the city, Nathaniel had taken up a fallen spear from a guard who had left him and his few friends to die. While injured, Nathaniel managed to defeat a young dragon that tried to feast on them. His bravery did not go unnoticed however. Forchenault Durandal had noticed and took it upon himself to adopt and train the young Au Ra boy in the ways of the Dragoon with the help of Ser Alveux Kaubecuet

Life with the Durandal family was not all that he and his friends had thought it would be. The training had been torturous on the malnourished child. More than a few scars left by the man he now called master and father. During the rare occasion he had time for himself, Nathaniel tried desperately to find out what had happened to his parents. To find out why they had abandoned him to such a place that was so inhospitable to their kind. His searches came to no avail however. Though he was considered a Durandal child, he was still treated with disdain and contempt by the elites of Ishgard.

After several years of training, belittling by the Ishgardian elite, and what felt like near constant torture, Nathaniel finally came of age and left Ishgard with barely a word to his adoptive father and master. He made his way to the warm deserts of Ul'dah first, feeling truly warm for the first time in his life. It wasn't long before he made his way to La Noscea and the main city of Limsa Lominsa. It was there that he put his skills to use with the Grand Company Maelstrom. But that, is a story for another day.

During his travels he learned a great many more skills than his master had taught him. Leatherworking he had found great pleasure in doing, allowing him to make money and a true living aside from fighting constantly.

Physical Attributes: Scarring running down his back from lashings he had received as a child along with stab wounds. Left eye glowing thanks to having lost vision. Uses Aetherical energies to allow him to see shapes and auras in said eye.
